As of the 2010 census, a total of 29,216 civilians reside within New Mexico's 56th State House District. Each New Mexico State Representative represents an average of 29,417 residents.

 

This diverse district is 55% Anglo, 29% Hispanic, 13% Native American and 3% Other ethnicities.

 

District 56 spans across two New Mexico counties – Lincoln and Otero – and includes residents of multiple towns:

  • San Patricio

  • Glencoe

  • Ruidoso Downs

  • Ruidoso 

  • Mescalero

  • Bent

  • Tularosa

  • La Luz

  • Alamogordo 

 

District 56 Lincoln County precincts include:  6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 18, 21 and 22. District 56 Otero County precincts include:  10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 28, 29 and 38.

New Mexico's 56th State House District is represented by a Republican incumbent who has served unopposed for over 10 years.
